The
governments Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) scheme
aims to encourage young people post 16 to continue in
education beyond the statutory age. A weekly payment of
up to £30 is paid directly to students with a satisfactory
attendance record and bonus payments offered to encourage
students to successfully continue in education.
Tokairo is therefore extending TokAM to
support colleges administer EMA reducing the actual administration
costs allowing colleges to use EMA funds to finance their
TokAM annual support fees.
Tokairo has demonstrated its commitment to support colleges administering the EMA scheme by developing three TokAM EMA modules.
- TokAM EMA Module
The TokAM EMA Module handles all EMA data management administrative processes including weekly payment decisions, bonus payment decisions, handling payment decision queries and EMA student enrolment
- TokAM EMA Plus
The TokAM EMA Plus Module supports the management of payment decision appeals and communicating payment stoppages and delay notifications
TokAM EMA Plus also integrates with Tokairo document management system, TokOpen, ensuring efficient storage, management and access to all the EMA related documentation while also meeting the auditing requirements set by the DfES for the EMA scheme
- TokAM EMA Web Plus
TokAM EMA Web Plus includes all EMA Plus functionality with the addition of TokOpen Web providing on line distributed bonus payment decisions and on line EMA document access
Automatic upload
The latest version of the TokAM EMA modules allows colleges to automatically upload data to EMASYS (DfES Payment system) for enrolment, weekly payment decision and bonus payment decisions.
These are some of the many benefits delivered by the modules:
- Efficient Education Maintenance Allowance rollout. Consistent, accurate and timely attendance capture is central to the rollout of EMA
- Reduction in EMA administration costs: One staff member can process up to 600 EMA student forms in one day
- 24/7 security and user privileges access control for all records
- Compliance with Freedom of Information & Data Protection legislation
- Simple no hassle archiving of unlimited number of records
Connexions card Scheme
The Department of Education & Skills
(DfES) Connexions Card scheme aims to encourage successful
learning for young people aged 16 to 19 by rewarding attendance
with points redeemable against discounted and free goods,
services or other rewards. Using the Tokairo Attendance
Manager (TokAM) Connect Module the attendance data accurately
captured by TokAM can be used to automatically allocate
students Connexions Card points
Tokairo's partnership with the DfES directly
benefits TokAM users who will receive the TokAM Connect
Module at no cost. The only fee you will have to pay is
the annual support fee.
Students
are automatically allocated Connexions Card reward points
for attendance data collected in the TokAM system by simply
clicking a button in the Connect Module. Using the Connect
Module there is no need for a student to swipe smart cards
to earn Connexions Card point
Tokairo were among the first software suppliers
to successfully interface with the DfES Connexions Card
system. This development has undergone extensive testing
and involved the completion of a software approval process
